Our Post is dedicated to serving our community by providing valuable services. The American Legion has been widely-recognized as one of the best Veterans' organizations. Sept 27, 2018  Our next Post meeting will be, at 6:00 p.m., at the Fish House restaurant, located on Highway 17 South, Litchfield Beach (13060 Ocean Highway).
This meeting will include updates on Post Service Officer activities (in support of area Veterans), Boys State, the oratorical contest, upcoming fund raisers, and voting on some important issues; please do plan to join us.

Spouses are invited to join us for dinner at 5:00 p.m.

October 6th:  Post 247, Russellville,  11:00 a.m.
January 12th: Post 197 (at Post 178, Murrells Inlet, 11:00 a.m.

Post 197 team (Bob Hawkins, Adjutant; Gary Ward, Past Commander & Finance Officer; and members, Chris Thompson, Jerry Goodrich and Bill Thompson, assisted the July 2014 "Salute" by placing announcement signs along Highway 17 (Ocean Highway).  The same members also assisted the July 2015 "Salute".
